Meat processing, gourmet products, pet food, and the wholesaling and retail of food products: heristo aktiengesellschaft is present in the German and international market in numerous industries. Since April 2020, heristo has also been the sole owner of HTM, one of the largest helicopter companies in the German-speaking region.

A start with three employees

HTM Helicopter Travel Munich started in 1997 with only three employees. However, the company, with its base at Munich Airport, developed rapidly. After a short time, HTM quickly started rescue helicopter operations at several sites in Germany, Austria, and South Tyrol. In addition, the group has expanded its fleet to include business jets, and offers a wide range of helicopter maintenance and repair services through its subsidiary Intercopter GmbH, which is also used by numerous public-sector clients.

Broad portfolio

Thanks to this growth, the company based in Ottobrunn near Munich now has more than 140 employees. 24 helicopters and two business jets are in operation spread out over six different locations. The company's core business includes commercial passenger and cargo transport, the resupply of mountain huts in alpine regions, emergency medevac and rescue flights, and the training of private and rescue pilots at its own flight school. Another important area of HTM's operations is maintenance work at sea.

Social significance

As a leader in the helicopter industry, HTM takes its corporate social responsibility seriously. For example, since 2018 HTM has been part of the TEMPiS telemedicine project, which conducts integrated stroke treatment in the southeast Bavarian region. In cooperation with ADAC-Luftrettung and two Munich stroke centers, TEMPiS "Flying Intervention Teams" enable the rapid transport and treatment of stroke patients.

Furthermore, HTM gets involved quickly and unbureaucratically in emergency and crisis situations – for example, in firefighting missions, or after natural disasters. During the devastating floods in southwestern Germany in July 2021, for example, the company deployed several helicopters to rescue injured and trapped victims and to take aerial photographs for situation assessment.
